Schiphol Group and Fraport A.G. asked Zigila to come up with a name for a joint venture set up to develop and run airports all over the world. The name had to be legally and linguistically appropriate in over sixty countries. Our clients also wanted a name that reflected both the instrumental and the positioning values of the organisation. They decided on PANTARES – a name that is a combination of Antares (the brightest star in the universe, which refers to transport through the air), Pan (which refers to the fact that this is a pan-European alliance and emphasises the international nature of the venture) and PantaRei (the continuous dynamics and logistics of aviation in a metaphorical sense). The entire project, including legal and linguistic screening, was finalised within three months.
